Taking the S-Bahn to the Messe Hannover
From Sarstedt to Hannover/Laatzen trade-fair station without changing.

Hannover’s exhibition grounds are among the largest in the world. For leading trade fairs such as the Hannover Messe, the IAA Transportation or Agritechnica, tens of thousands of visitors arrive at the same time — the right way of getting there then saves a lot of time and nerves. Here are the most important options.

By train to the Hannover Messe/Laatzen station

The exhibition grounds have their own station: Hannover Messe/Laatzen. From there the Skywalk leads directly onto the site — without long walks. The trade fair station is reachable by S-Bahn and Stadtbahn, among others from Hannover central station.

The big advantage: no traffic jams, no hunting for a space and no expensive trade-fair car parks. Especially on busy fair days, the train is almost always the fastest option.

By car via the B6 and A7

By car you reach the exhibition grounds via the B6 and the nearby A7. But note: the car parks at the grounds are chargeable and fill up quickly during leading trade fairs. If you come from the surrounding area, it’s often more relaxed to leave the car and cover the last stretch by train.

From Hannover Airport

From Hannover-Langenhagen Airport you reach the exhibition grounds by S-Bahn — usually with one change at the central station. International exhibitors and trade visitors thus land practically straight into the public transport network of the trade fair city.

The fastest route: from Sarstedt to the trade fair

An insider tip for getting there is Sarstedt, south of Hannover. From the Dua Hotel it is just a 2-minute walk to Röntgenstraße station. From there you travel without changing towards the Hannover/Laatzen trade fair station and, including the walk, reach the grounds in around 15 minutes.

This way you combine the best of both: stay somewhere quiet and good value outside the city centre, park for free (even with a van) and still be at your stand within minutes — on trade-fair days even with breakfast from 06:00. Read more on our pages Messehotel Hannover and Messehotel Sarstedt.
